    An unusual Sarasota area community only minutes from downtown, Whitfield Estates offers both waterfront and golf course homes. Established in the 1920's, Whitfield estate was the first Sarasota golf community built along the fairways of what is now the SaraBay Country Club just north of Sarasota. It is actually just over the line in Bradenton in Manatee County.

    During the 1920's real estate boom, Donald Ross, the foremost golf-course architect of the time, designed the golf course for Whitfield Estates Country Club (now known as SaraBay). Famous golfer Bobby Jones was hired to promote sales. Residents of Whitfield Estates & SaraBay Country club enjoy close proximity to the attractions of both Sarasota and Bradenton as well as convenient access to the local airport.

    Members of SaraBay Country Club enjoy the heritage and camaraderie, as well as an outstanding golf experience. The Sara Bay golf course is very walker-friendly and walking is unrestricted, and, the course is consistently in excellent condition.

    The Whitfield Estates and Sara Bay community features Spanish-Mediterranean and Florida ranch style homes, in a wide variety of sizes to meet the needs of young families, young professionals, and active retirees. This quite private community offers homes on the golf course in the $150,000 to $400,000 range, while homes on the canal begin in the low $200,000 range and rise to over $3 million for new bayfront homes.
